Trust In The Lord: Five Bible Verses To Reaffirm Trust

When life gets hard or things do not go as planned, it is easy for doubt to creep in. Most Christians begin to ask questions like; Is God even there? Is He not seeing what I am going through? To be fair, I can relate to these Christian. The word “trust” connotes responsibility, faith, and relationship. Generally, it is such a big deal. And putting your faith in someone who is seemingly “not coming through for you” can be quite disheartening. Nevertheless, we should hold fast to God and His Word. Because at the end of it all, He has plans only to prosper us and give us a remarkable future (paraphrased, Jeremiah 29:11). Consequently, even when it feels like He is not there, He is.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

  1. Isaiah 43:1 (He knows you by name): In this verse, God assures Jacob of His commitment to him and that he, Jacob, is His.
    This assurance is one that many believers need to be reminded of, even in perilous times like this.
    Isaiah 43:1 is an encouragement to every Christian today, saying that God will be with you during your trying times and hard seasons. You may think He is not there, but He always is, like He says in His Word. Trust in God’s presence every day of your life and rest in His comforting arms when you do not know what to do or say.
  2. Exodus 14:14 (He will fight for you): Exodus 14:14 is rich in God’s defense for us. When we hold our peace and allow Him to take charge by trusting Him, He will fight every battle for us.
  3. Psalms 139: 17 (He thinks about you): Psalm 139:17 explains that we are all loved equally, and God calls us special and cherished. God is constantly searching the deepest parts of my heart. He knows when I get up to seek Him or when I sleep in because I am exhausted. He knows my deepest thoughts when I genuinely love someone, or when I am judging them instead.
  4. Jeremiah 29: 11 (He has plans for you): Christians facing difficult situations today can take comfort in Jeremiah 29:11. Knowing that it is not a promise to immediately rescue us from hardship or suffering, but rather a promise that God has a plan for our lives and regardless of our current situation, He can work through it to prosper us and give us hope for tomorrow.
  5. Psalms 62:6-8 (He is your refuge): Trust God in every moment. Tell him all your troubles and pour out your heart to Him. A refuge is a place where safety is. God is our refuge. So, when we trust Him, He comes in and shelters us.
  6. Matthew 28:20 (He is always with you): God is always with us whether we are conscious of it or not. In Matthew 28:20, He assures us that He is always with us, instead of worrying, let’s always talk to Him in prayer trusting that He is always around.

When we trust in the Lord, we give Him the chance to express help to love to us limitlessly. The word of God gives us a guide to trust God. Engage in the word, look to Jesus, and enjoy everything that comes with trusting God.
