The Bible instructs us not to get angry and sin. Anger, when not controlled, can cause you to say hurtful things to your partner that you may not be able to take back.

What to do: Take time to cool off. Explain to your partner that you would both address the issue but you need time to cool off. Be very specific about when you think you would be in a position to speak and ensure you don’t create a gap between you and your partner during this process. If it can be resolved quickly don’t allow it to linger. If your partner is the one dealing with anger, give him/her time to cool off. If you discover that he/she continuously has anger issues/outbursts, I recommend that he/she seeks help.
