Movie lessons: Two vital lessons worth sharing

I love movies! Only that I literally always forget them not long after seeing them except for a few, like ‘Sound of Music’. Lately, I’m always so busy that I see movies as a reward for my work. So I unwind with a movie once in a while and I try to be careful with the kind of movies I see.

I like to always pick a lesson from any movie that I watch. That way, it wouldn’t be an absolute waste of my time, since I will most likely forget the movie anyway. Which, on a side note, makes me unhappy with myself for seeing ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ that inspired the former articles I wrote on this platform.

Maybe I learned that things are not always as they appear. Like when you see a 27yr old Millionaire/Billionaire, don’t assume you’ve seen the best man. Don’t rush into wishing you are that person. There may be aspects of that person’s life you will not wish on an enemy.

Okay, so back to the gist, I always pick a lesson or two. Like this movie, I saw a long time ago. I can’t even remember the title or the movie itself except for this little part.

LESSON ONE

It was an alien invasion thing and this particular boy was saved from death which would have been inevitable if he had inhaled a gas released by the alien monsters. Of all possible times, it was at that time the boy had his asthma attack and couldn’t breathe. No help was available as everyone was in hiding for their lives. He lost consciousness. The alien stood over the unconscious boy, breathed the deadly gas all over the boy. Concluding that the boy was harmless and of no use to it, the alien left the boy. The boy didn’t regain consciousness until the invasion has been contained and he was rushed to the hospital. It was a miracle he survived through the whole time of unconsciousness.

I learned that everything happens for a reason. God has interesting ways of keeping His people. Even using a ‘difficult’ or ‘painful’ or seemingly ‘hopeless’ situation sometimes but at the end, the situations are always for our good when we follow GOD.

LESSON TWO

It’s 1:40 am, I Just finished watching the new “Fantastic Four” movie. I learned that a ‘New Level’ which we all pray for brings out what we have on the inside. New levels don’t make us better people. It doesn’t make us new people. It just gives a platform to who we really are on the inside.

See Also

Victor in Fantastic Four is a vivid example of this. He was known as ‘Doom’ from his first introduction in the movie, and though he also got exposed to what the others were exposed to, albeit over a longer period, he still brought doom, while the others found a way to make a positive impact.

The other four characters also, we can still see their personalities in their ‘evolved’ nature. For example, Johnny still loves speed but now  ‘races’ in the sky!

It’s all about what we have inside. So next time we want to pray for a change of levels, position…The first thing we should do is to check to see what we have on the inside. If it’s not attractive, then we need to deal with it first. Then we can now pray for the change we want. So we will use the ‘greater’ platform to showcase the right thing.

It’s all on the inside!
