From God’s Word: Five Truths To Remember This Month

The easiest way the devil attacks Christians is through their mind. He attacks your mind and before you realize it, he is attacking other areas of your life. This is why the Bible urges us to guard our minds at all costs. Because once the devil succeeds in getting your mind, he holds you captive with his lies, antics, and accusations, as he is a liar and accuser of the brethren.

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

Proverbs 4:23 NKJV

More than ever, conversations around mental health need to be prioritized. This is because it is the only way to create an environment for awareness, vulnerability, and help.  As mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, and stress pervade the world, it is important that we take all the necessary steps to protect our mental health.

Other than therapy and other medical solutions, the Bible is also a potent instrument in overcoming the war the devil wages against our mind. There is no type of mental illness the Bible cannot cure if you believe and hold fast to His word.

Hence, to commemorate the month of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, I will be sharing some of God’s truths you can use to protect your mind against the antics of the enemy.

Here are four things you should remember this month from God’s word:

  1. God is for you: No matter how past months have been, I want you to know this truth; God is for you and not against you. He is invested in all that concerns you. And even when it seems like nothing is working, He is working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that you come out victorious. Just stand firm.

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31 NKJV

  1. He loves you more than you think or imagine: Sometimes, I wonder what we did to deserve God’s love and grace. If anything, the reverse should be the case. But I guess that God’s way is indeed higher than ours. Now, just as I am so sure of God’s love for me, that is how I am sure He loves you too. Infact, I think He loves us even more than we can ever fathom. Jesus is the proof! Regardless of any situation or tresspasses, know that His love surpasses them all. Rest in this!

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8 NKJV

  1. He will give you peace and joy: Dealing with anxiety or stress from work? Be reminded of this truth; God will give you peace and joy in the midst of it all. Just invite to Him take over, and you will see His peace and joy abound like He promised. Thus, giving you rest on all sides.

You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Psalms 30:5 NKJV

  1. God will supply all your needs and wants: Psalms 23:1 says that because the Lord is our shepherd, we have no business wanting. This is so powerful. Because it shows that God is not only about providing our needs alone, but also our wants. So, know that you have a loving father and leader, whose top priority is to provide for you.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
