Four Things Christians Should Do More

Your Christian journey should aim at revealing who God is every step of the way, to the unbelievers. Essentially, there are things one must continually do, if you belong to Jesus, to set you apart from the crowd. The Bible admonishes us “not to be weary in well doing, for in due season: we shall reap if we faint not” ( Galatians 6:9). If we must live a wholesome Christian life in these last days, there are certain things Christians are expected to do more.

Let’s take a look at them:

  1. Preach the gospel more: These are the last days, and the last days are perilous. Therefore, Christians are to bring people out of these perils by preaching the gospel of hope to them. Jesus Christ emphatically admonished his disciples:

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:19 NKJV

The instructions of Jesus did not accrue to his disciples alone; these instructions accrue to all Christians even today. Many people are yet experience God. So, it is our duty as believers to bring them to Him.

  1. Pray more: In this era of social media, it is easy to get distracted as it relates to prayer. Christians tend to focus on wrong things thereby leaving little or no room for prayer. The Scripture says:

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Ephesians 5:16 NKJV

One of the ways to redeem the time is to pray without ceasing. We need an army of believers who are fervent in the place of prayer, and who will do it without ceasing.

  1. Forgive more: The word of God makes it clear that God will only forgive the sins of those who are willing to forgive others of their sins. Believers of today need to forgive more and judge less. Matthew 18: 21-22 highlights this:

Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

  1. Love more: The greatest commandment in the scriptures is provided in Matthew 22:35-39:

Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

Matthew 22:35‭-39 NKJV

Christians are to allow their love for God and their neighbors be ever refreshing and unconditional. After all, it is the great commandment. Now, what better way to love and obey God than spreading love like flowers give petals.

Do the things listed above more, and experience the best of God in these last days.
