BLOODY CIVILIANS

BLOODY CIVILIANS

“Left, left, left, right….” The sound of left-right still echo in my ears, they call us bloody civilians and am here wondering what’s the difference between me and you, “I don’t love your style of life anyway”. All the training, the march past, the tug of war, the man o war drills and all.

Did I say I didn’t like them, yes I didn’t! I did learn something at least from the military life that has opened my eye to a scripture in the Bible and for that alone, I am grateful for my time spent doing “Left Right” and the hours of “move to the left by number, squad one”

Soldier don’t get tied up in the affairs of civilian life, for then he cannot please the officer who enlisted them (2Tim 2:4 NLT)

The military is meant to be a place of discipline and order. Discipline in the sense that all keep to that which they have been told to do, come out by 8 am and if you are not outside you hear them shout “bloody civilians” and of course the part I didn’t like was the order part, when you have to lift your feet at the same time with your fellow parade members.

We are being trained for life they said! Yoruba will say “Aye o le ba yi” meaning life is not that hard. Well, I thought so too, life is not so hard, so why all of this? it was for a purpose, you could choose to see the match past as a training for teamwork because one of the instructions they gave was that we should stand close together and watch the leg of the person close to you.

Ok I am getting carried away now by the whole narration, if you need to know more about the military, am pretty sure the NDA would be enlisting soon, if they have not already, grab a form or better still they are still “bloody civilians”, enlist in the Jesus Army, forms are available at all times 😉 .

This morning I can’t really remember what I thought about and I had read this scripture the previous day in bible study with a group of friends and the first thought that came to my mind was “It’s for the civilians”, it sounded cool to me.

There is a way of life that is not meant for me, sickness is for the civilian and not me (We have the bread and they have the crumbs Matt 15:27)! Sin is not for me, it is for the civilian! I am an overcomer because the commandant has won the battle already. I think the thoughts that should flow through your mind right now is what am I wired for? What am I being trained in Christ army to do? Can I leave life the way others are living their life? Or is there a life I have been called to leave?

Keep the comments rolling in; let’s learn from you…Here is mine, one of our duties as a soldier in the army of Christ is soul winning, how many have you told about the glorious life of being a Soldier in the army of Christ. Awaiting your comments as militants, what do you think?
